In a Salesforce survey conducted recently it was found that “the R&D cost of transitioning to EV’s will be a substantial risk to the automotive industry’s profits for the next 5 years.” With this threat to profits, automotive companies are investing in Internet of Things applications like Apple CarPlay. They are coming up with partnerships and subscription plans to bring in revenue in a new way.
